China, number one again....turned out more PhDs last year than any other country in the world.
But...a PhD does not a good teacher make. Quality of teaching is being seriously questioned in China.
Professors are caught up in
1. Publish or perish mentality
2. Raising funds
and
3. Attending conferences = making them absent from class.
Gee, it sounds like the same problem there is with traditional colleges in America, no?
As a result China has had some problems with plagiarism in the recent past.
In the near future they are likely to have some problems with their students and competition from fopros who make it into the country, too.
What do you think?

Well, they could something similar to what you did and buy their Ph.d from a dipolma mill. No fussing with research. No worries about defending your
ideas from your peers. And instant respect because the chances of anyone
checking it out in CA are next to none.
