An improving economy is often bad for schools. The reason is simple - Increased competition from jobs.
Let me see, should I go to school which costs money or go to work and make money?
Easy answer, right? Always has been.
However, this does NOT affect only the fopros. The public schools also see a drop. But since the fopros cater more to the working adult, those institutions are likely to be more affected.
In 2002 and 2003, the fopros grew at more than 43%. In 2004 it 'slowed' to 23%.
In 2006 the projected growth is from 13-20% - still quite healthy.
Analysts = best guessers say that enrollment in fopros will increase from 10-17% over the next few years and earnings will grow from 15-25%.
Even it's slow, relatively, I can imagine most any company would like to see growth like that...including the non-profit schools.
What do you think?
