Samuel Wood, creator of this model of money in/money out for higher ed institutions says that non-profit colleges are beginning to spend more money on marketing.
Wow!...where did the non-profits get that idea, I wonder.
Still..he says that the decision to get to aggressive in recruiting new students might be a mistake. The amount that the non-profits spend on instruction and related services is more than what they receive in tuition.
Let me see...the more students they have the WORSE it is? Because they have to pay professors, librarians and gym attendants too much to teach and cater to them.
There is something wrong with this picture...when a university canNOT afford to have more students.
Do fopros do everything right? NO WAY! Hey, I teach for two of them...one f2f and the other online. I know.
But, are there some serious problems with the public institutions? You betcha.
What do you think?
