
I wrote just a couple of days ago about the top seven big players in for-profit education business.
Here are three of them that were mentioned in a recent businessweek....
However, they were not mentioned because of the booming profits that were coming in. Rather Businessweek listed its top class of growing businesses from 2004 and the big losers of 2004. Three of the 10 biggest losers are the same three mentioned above.
Career Corporation (CEC) lost 42.4%
UTI lost 44.6%
and
CCI lost 51.3%
You can be sure there are a lot of not-for-profit schools that are happy about that.
Why would anybody be happy when someone else is hurting?
