Captial University in Colubmus, OH has been operating in the red for serveral years.
They finally decided on what they should do to save money - make cuts, fire staff, cut programs.
Some 75 positions were eliminated.
Continuing education centers (sources of revenue) in Cleveland, Dayton and downtown Columbus were cut.
What is interesting is what was NOT cut. No faculty jobs were cut.

You mean there is not one researching, teaching assistant using, tenure riding professor that is using up more than s/he is bringing in?
You mean there is not one pre-classical Greek, post-neurotic psyche class that could be dispensed with - and the person who teaches it, too?
I hardly think so.
And, now is there any wonder why non-profit schools can't balance their budgets?
What do you think?
