In non-profit universities, faculty
1. serve on faculty counsels
2. decide the curriculum
3. protect tradition
4. tell students what the student needs (from the faculty perspective) to know
5. are secure in their tenured positions
6. are protected by academic freedom
7. for unions and bargain for their own benefit
Non-profits are for the faculty and the students, if they are good enough, can be privileged to sit in the same room and learn something from these faculty.
Doesn't this sound like a good place to learn, spend 10's of thousands of dollars to get into?
