The national commission on higher ed has drafted a report that accuses public colleges and universities of being too inefficient.
Professors are teaching less - the profs like this, but it's not what they are paid for, is it?
College facilities are underused - I passed by a junior college today that was vacant. Okay...it's summer vacation.
I teach at a fopro and their building was bustling.
Why does a college need to take three months off? Where is the efficiency there?
Why not let the students go year round and get done in three years instead of four?
Why are public institutions keeping hallways cooled when no one is there?
Tuition and fees are climbing - but students seem to be learning LESS?! Something is wrong with this picture.
What do you think?

Summer vacation makes me think of high school and the years prior where you arn't really allowed to get ahead. I'm an adult attending (a fopro) college and isn't something I want to drag out at . In fact the reason I chose this school was because I would finish in 18months. Two more to go:)
