UGS has offered $1.1 Billion in software grants to universities in China.
As a result, some 45,000 undergrad and grad students yearly in China will benefit and have direct access to UGS' world-class Product Lifecycle Management software.
Whoa! Here is an American company with a vision to train the next generation of Chinese engineering talents. Do you think those Chinese who benefit from these grants will remember this investment in their lives?
You betcha! I am confident that UGS is building loyalty here and making an investment that will pay LARGE dividends down the road. US company's usually want a return on their investment in their own lifetime. My hat is off to UGS.
In the past 10 years, UGS has made grants of its software to approximately 450 academic institutions in China with a commercial value of about $4.4 billion.
One college, YanCheng Institute of Technology opened the first UGS COllege last year to meet the growing demand for experienced technologists in the Chinese automotive industry.
UGS is headquartered in Texas but has nearly 4 million seats and 46,000 customers world wide. Factor in 45,000 new loyal and knowledgable Chinese and that number is likely to see some serious growth.
It is a good thing when companies invest in education for improvment, I think.
What do you think?
