California State University system is the largest in America. There are more than 44,000 employees, 23 campuses and about 405,000 students.
In the past three years, tuition costs have climbed 76%!!! All the while, the Chronicle of Higher Education reported, the university's 29 highest-paid positions have been raking in money that was decidedly paid to them by an inner circle of top adminsistrators.
Does anybody besides me think, "What in the world is going on here?!!!"
It's a public institution. Why aren't decisions made publicly? Where is the board of trustees that is supposed to oversea this? And why am I paying for some bozo who makes 3-4 times as much money as me to keep making money even they don't work anymore?
Here is one of the www.chronicle.com findings.
Three executives - a general counsel, C. Helwick, a Vice Chancellor, J. McClain and a Chief Financial Officer, R. west were granted future tenur positions as full-professors. We know that tenured profs cannot be fired.
Helwich had NEVER taught full courses at the university level before! Why in the world is someone who has never taught a full course before being given full-tenure at the highest level?
The other two have only limited teaching experience. That will make them fit right in. Once a prof gets tenured, they stop teaching anyway and turn things over to graduate assistants.
Stop it! Stop giving things to people for doing nothing while charging out the gazoo to students who cannot afford to pay.
CSU's original mission was "to provide a low-cost four-year college to eligible students."
How can that be done while people are given such ungodly perks that are of zero benefit to the students in CSU schools or who would like to go there?
I want my tax money back!
