California State University system is the largest in America. There are more than 44,000 employees, 23 campuses and about 405,000 students.
In the past three years, tuition costs have climbed 76%!!! All the while, the Chronicle of Higher Education reported, the university's 29 highest-paid positions have been raking in money that was decidedly paid to them by an inner circle of top adminsistrators.
Does anybody besides me think, "What in the world is going on here?!!!"
It's a public institution. Why aren't decisions made publicly? Where is the board of trustees that is supposed to oversea this? And why am I paying for some bozo who makes 3-4 times as much money as me to keep making money even they don't work anymore?
Here is one of the www.chronicle.com findings.
At least five former campus presidents, T. Arciniega. R. Maxson, A. McCrone, N. Rees and B. Suzuki were left on the payroll for a year or more at salaries in excess of $200K/year to do special projects with 'NO END PRODUCT" or written report.
Arciniega is stealing $540,744 for three years.
Maxson is raking in $560,016 for a two-year assignment.
McCrone was handed $203,088 for a one-year assignment, plus $142K for unused vacation time.
Rees is getting $341,232 for a two-year assignment and...
Suzuki will see $423,000 for his three year assignment.
Stop it! Stop paying people for doing nothing while charging out the gazoo to students who cannot afford to pay.
CSu's original mission was "to provide a low-cost four-year college to eligible students."
How can that be done while people are given such ungodly perks that are of zero benefit to the students in CSU schools and who would like to go there?
I want my tax money back!

The system is nuts! And corrupt too. Why is education treated like a laibilty anyway? Education isn't a used car. People should be paid to teach and to learn, both.
