I teach F2F for Career Education Corporation. I have been for three years.
For personal reasons it has become necessary for my wife and I to move from our home on the west coast to somewhere back east.
Career Education Corporation has some 80 campuses, most of them here in the states.
Monday night I sent an email to the director of education of a branch campus in the city where we are planning to move.
I explained my situation, my background at the current school where I teach and provided a reference from the school where I teach.
Tuesday morning, I got an email saying I was welcome to their school and there were classes available for me to teach.
A called the dean of the school a couple of hours later and got a busy signal and an incoming call signal at the same time. It was he trying to contact me.
We confirmed that I will start teaching for this school as soon as I finished this quarter - in about three weeks, and when their quarter starts - in about 5 weeks.
Try making that smoooth a transition between two traditional colleges/universities. No politiking, no back biting, no begging, no pleading....just an email and a phone call.
Career Education Corporation has been taking a beating in the news.
But, for me, I see that they take care of their own.
What do you think?
