China's economy is growing and the influence of this growth is felt throughout the world, and particularly among her neighbors.
Since 9/11 the number of foreign students in the US has decreased dramatically. As a result, they have to/want to go somewhere.
Many Chinese scholars who have been refused entry to the US are now headed for Australia. And, of course, Australia is plenty eager to reap this windfall of students and the brain muscle that comes with it.
Thai students who have been blocked entry to the US now head to China to study.
In the Philippines, Mandarin Chinese is now required as an elective at state-run schools.
Chinese tourists flock to the Thai Royal Palace in Bangkok instead of US hot spots like Las Vegas.
China is creating good will throughout the world, but especially to the PanAsian nations.
Good for China! Good for her neighbors!
What do you think?
go to 老毕看中国

i think that's a good idea at least a lot of people have an option place to go since US are turning away good students to study here in america because of what happen on 9/11. for one, i have a cousin, grew up in the philippines, now residing in los angeles, can speak fluent chinese but not sure whether they know either mandarin or cantonese. also australia is more close to asia rather than head for the US, where good students being rejected to come here. also, some students are not coming to US anymore to study english and just stay close to their homeland, like the philippines, where lessons are taught in english, tuition is more affordable compared here in US
