Rutgers University Driving Students Away

Rutgers University is New Jersey's Largest University. And, it seems they are doing their darndest to change that.

Rutgers will cut nearly 800 classes and 750 jobs as well as several sports programs in order to stay in the black.

And, they will raise tuition = the students are being asked to pay MORE for LESS.

By the time students pay in-state tuition costs, mandatory fees, dorm costs and such, the average Rutger student's parent will need to shell out about $19,000, making it one of the most expensive state universities in the country.

The Rutgers Board of Governors said they had no choice but to raise tuition for its 50,000 student body because the state cut their funding by $66 million.

Poor rich school.

Can't get the money given them by the state, so they squeeze it out of it students.

Let's see, pay more taxes or pay more tuition?

What do you think?

I go to Rutgers and the increase in tuition sucks pretty bad. It's pretty sad the state can't do more for something as important as education. Mix in the ever increasing cost of college in general and you've got yourself a Jersey mess.

Some times I have trouble understanding the system. If you want to educate the youngs and keep them away from trouble, you have to increase the education budget. The story that I am about to tell, I hope it won't offend anyone. I am an imigrant myself. I began paying taxes since I entered this country. Here is the story that is true: "An old lady went for her citizenship interview with her granddaughter as an interpreter. When the interviewer asked her What month was the US independence day, The granddaugher translated; Grandmom, when is the biggest sale of Nordstrom? Grandmother responded: July. Next question: Who was the first president of U.S? Granddaughter translated: Where auntie lives? Grandmom responded: Washington, Last question: Who is the governor of California? Granddaughter translated: Who played the movei that a robot transferred from future to present? Grandmom respond: Arnold. Grandmother got her citizenship. She started to collect the benefit. Every sis month she travel back to her country and collect her retirement and the rent from her property and return to US.
You tell me who deserve the benefit of the taxes that we paying now? Students who need education or an old lady who is rich and lied in application?
