Kudos to student movements that make a difference. STAND is Students Taking Action Now: Dafur. These students are all over their colleges for the money their colleges are investing in places like Sinopec. Why? Because Sinopec supports the Sudanese government and the Sudanese government is commiting genocide.
It is a case where students are educating the trustees of their respective universities about which companies are doing what and to whom.
I find this amusing and reassuring at the same time.
Why don't the trustees already know where their school's money is going?
Why do they need kids their kids' ages to tell them how not to invest money?
Why are schools investing their money in Sudan anyway, unless they are building satellite campuses or something along those lines?
Where are the professors at? Why aren't they involved? Or have their graduate assistants not reported back to them as of yet?
I have more questions than I have answers.
There are no stupid questions, I am told. So, then Harvard, Stanford and others...What are the stupid answers?
