An associate neurobiology professor at UCLA had to give up his research on primates because some monkey lovers scared him out of it.
The monkeymongers posted the prof's name and home phone number of their web site. Consequently, they all started acting like monkeys throwing suitcases and took aim at the prof.
All this was done in the name of animal rights.
The group hailed the prof's resignation as a sign of victory while some researchers worried more about increased activity by such groups who are willing to use extreme tactics. Earlier in the year another animal activist group put a Molotov cocktail on the doorstep of a researcher. But it was the wrong researcher. The bomb didn't go off.
UCLA's response was "we all suffer when animal rights activists attempt to intimidate researchers by physically threatening and harassing them and their families, including young children."
I remember a time when in southern CA a woman was attacked and killed by a mountain lion. Donations were collected for her four children totally $4,000.
A few weeks later some mountain lion cubs were found with no mother. Donations of $20,000 were collected!
There is something wrong when people value animal lives over human lives.
The Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act would make it a federal crime for animalctivists to cause economic disruption to researchers and their extended network.
I'll support the act.
What do you think?

animal activists are terrorist??...ummm maybe. the ones that are extreme and go beyond are scary. im actually writing a paper about animal abuse...reading this makes me think even more about both sides. i love animals but i got to draw the line about how far a person is going to save an animal. i also can't help feeling sorry for animals locked in cages. i gree when people value more of animals lives than humans.
