What that means is that those running the various venues at the Olympics can be very choosy.
The Olympic organizers estimate that they only need 70,000 volunteers for the Olympic Games and 30,000 for the Paralympic Games.
Most of the volunteers came from university students who applied through campus recruiting offices, youth organizations or online.
In addition to the 120,000 applications received, the Beijing Olympic Call Center reported they had received more than 580,000 phone inquiries.
How do you say "holy cow" in Chinese? That's a lot of phone calls and applications to sift through. But, then, they have a lot of volunteers to sort who will do the volunteering as well, eh?
China sure does have a lot of people.
I am really looking forward to the games and hope to be there to see them as well.
How about you? Will you attend?
