Hard is relative. Just because a student says s/he study harders doesn't mean that s/he is a better student...it could be the opposite.
Study hard also doesn't mean study smart.
Nevertheless this list by Princeton Review addresses which school students think they study the hardest at.
10. Grinnell University in Ginnell, IA - and to think that I thought all Iowans were corn farmers. Maybe that is why they have to study harder.
9. Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA
8. Marlboro University in Marlboro, VT...don't look in your pack of cigarettes
7. Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, PA
6. University of Chicago in Chicago - so, how do students know they are having the best experience if they are studying all the time?
5. Harvard College in Cambridge, MA
4. Reed College in Portland, OR - see my question for Chicago students.
3. Harvery Mudd College in Claremont, CA - with a name like that, I would stay home and study, too. Can you imagine the exchange with the founder of this college: "What's your name?" "My name is Mudd." I've had to say that quite a few times but only with one 'd'.
2. Massachusettes Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA - I guess it is going to be the hardest to get into, it may as well be the hardest one to stay at as well. Study or go home!
1. California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA - I guess rocket scientists really do have to study long and hard.
How hard and long do you NEED to study?
The Princeton Review rankings are a source of much debate, maybe even a few fist fights when the schools are neighbors. The book ranks schools in some 60+ different categories. The results are based on surveys given to those who should know best - the students who attend. And PR asked more than 115,000 such students.

I'm surprised Yale is not in the list, though students there really have to study long hours to get good grades.
