For-profit institution Crown college of Tacoma had to pay six students more than $87K to settle a dispute.
The students say they were misled by counselors as to which credits were transferrable and which were not.
Crown, of course, denied any wrong doing. But, according to the Seattle Times, this is the third time the school has had to settle such a case.
I don't follow the admission reps at the fopro where I teach, but I know they are taught to say the school where the student transfers TO will make the decision of what is transferrable and what is not.
Why would Crown tell students any different?
I guess I know why.
But, if a school has to be lied about or exaggerated to be sold, then something is wrong.
I'd look real hard before I sent anyone to Crown College in the future.
What do you think?
