D-Q University is one of America's first tribal colleges. According to insidehighered it has graduated hundreds of American Indians and non-Indian students in the past 30 years.
Let me see - hundreds in 30 years? That must be less than a thousand. Let's call it 900...that's 30 a year, max.
Steep financial problems and accreditation obstacles is forcing the school to close. I'll say!
The director of Capitol Area Indian Resources says the institution's low enrollment and dwindling finances as well as a lack of skilled management over MANY years led to their loss of accreditation.
Now federal financial aid is no longer available to the six students currently enrolled.
Well...yea..ah.
Native Americans need to go to school, too. No argument there.
Make tracks for the nearest available/affordable college and go.
It has been my experience that a college has to work real hard to fail accreditation standards year after year after year.
Shut it down.
What do you think?

An institution that incompetent should be closed. There are plently of colleges and Universities around for e v e r y o n e to attend. No need stick to a school of your ethnicity even though.. well the school sucks.
