When I went to work for a fopro in the Bay area of San Francisco, it was a very short time before I was introduced to their online training programs.
When I started there were a half dozen of more online courses available. By the time I finished all that were available, I had completed 16 course - How to run a meeting, how to conduct a class, how to deal with change...and so on.
Companies are spending big bucks training their employees - in house and at college. Not a few companies offer tuition reimbursement for their employees if they continue to study. My company paid for my second masters...well, they are paying for it.
The American Society for Training and Development estimates that companies paid $109.5 billion in 2005 for training inside and outside of their corporations. This is double what was shelled out in '95.
There is a lot of money to be spent/earned in education.
How much does your company spend on educating you?
