Grantham University had to move shop after its facilities were demolished by Katrina.
Grantham University is located at N.W. 87th Street in Kansas City right past Victoria's Secret. You can take the stairs or the elevator to the second floor.
The school needs to be a virtual campus, less every get side tracked at Vicky's.
Grantham University, a fopro, serves 11,000 students worldwide, most of them in the US military. Last year Grantham grossed $17 million, making it possible to serve even more students in more locations.
Grantham is a fully accredited university that teaches all courses online. About the worse a hurricane could do to them now is well, nothing. A tornado, however, could send them over the rainbow.
Still, it is success stories like Grantham that make other schools rethink their approach to delivering courses.
The National Center for Education Statistics estimates that fewer than 20% of students now attending US colleges are full-time undergrad students, ages 18-22.
The rest are part-timers, mid-career grad students, military people seeking degrees or working parents.
More colleges are going to have to follow in the steps of Grantham U. Let's hope it doesn't take a hurricane the size of Katrina to get them motivated.
