Ever since 1891 Randolph-Macon College has been a woman-only college. Now with a vote of 25-2 that has changed.
Board members say 'times have changed.' Alumnae say, 'show us the books.'
The board says there is shrinking demand for all-women's colleges. Graduates are crying 'poor fiscal management.'
Is there a school that manages their money well? I mean, a school without an umpteen billion dollar endowment to fall back on?
There is a group - Coalition to Preserve Women's Education - (TOMUCHTIME) that plans to fight the decision.
Wouldn't everyone's time be better spent doing things right the first time? Hiring qualified people to teach the number of classes they are assigned to a large enough group of students to pay for what it costs?
Nah...it is better to fight and bicker and point fingers.
Meanwhile, the students just want to be taught for a reasonable cost so that they can get on with their lives.
What do you think?
