I wrote a few days about an all women's schoo, Randolph-Macon college that was having trouble making ends meet. So...they voted to let the boys in.
well, alumnae didn't like that decision...so much for the democratic process.
Students of Randolph-macon didn't seem to like either. So, about 200 of them boycotted classes and the dining hall until administrators agreed to present their demands to the Board of trustees.
I would like to see a list of the demands -
1. coed dorms
2. wrestlers, please
3. tall, dark and handsome, and not picky, too
Seriously, what gets me is their negotiating technique. "Well, if you don't listen, we are going to go sit under a tree and pout until you do."
Why couldn't talks begin without a boycott? What happened to open and free discussion on the campus?
What do you think?

well it would have been better if they had gotten there without boycotts - but I understand their right to be heard. if the process is to be democratic, shouldn't the students be heard. however, the students should also then understand if the tuition is raised or the school is shut down. you can't have your cake and eat it too.
