This is crazy...The schools with the best Ultimate teams have the best graduation rates. A shrink in Seattle, WA (Isn't that where Frasier practices?) has learned that of 86 private national universities, those schools that are ranked in the top half for Ultimate have grad rate over 85% compared to a grade rate of 60% for those in the bottom half.
The figure is 'slightly higher' than the mean graduation rate by ALL other measures, including SATs, grades, faculty and financial resources.
So, if a kid is on an Ultimate team that is ranked in the top half of all Ultimate teams nationwide, s/he has a higher chance of graduating.
what a mystery!
What kinds of schools have Ultimate teams and are ranked in the top half I wonder.
The article goes on - Stanford, Brown, Harvard, Tufts, Dartmouth, Yale and Princeton.
Gee, you mean if I go to one of these seven schools AND play Ultimate I or my kid is more likely to graduate? 95% more likely?
Where is the mystery in that?
What I really think is crazy is that people will sit around and study this sort of thing....maybe the shrink needs a shrink.
What do you think?
