If a student is intelligent enough to go to Harvard or Yale they are likely intelligent enough to know that it may not be their best choice.
Here are 5 reasons why a student should give up on going to Harvar and Yale and head East.
1, The cost - A student can expect to shell out abt. $186,00 to attend Harvard and abt $170,000 over the course of four years. That same student could attend Oxford for abt. $112,000 including travel and get done in 3 years. If the student gets a job making $100K the year after graduation they will be almost out of debt by the time the Harvard or Yale grad is just getting started.
2. Easier to get into - St. Andrews of Scotland of Prince William fame expects 1300s on SAT compared to 1500s for Harvard & Yale.
3. A Different cultural experience awaits - living/adapting to another culture is as valuable as a college degree.
4. A competitive edge - Graduates of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) get recruited by the White House, the Pentagon, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
I wish I were a kid again and had the opportunity to study overseas. I'd do it in a hearbeat.
How about you?

Beautifully simple (i.e. elegant) justification for going overseas for education. I have begun "preaching" this idea to my colleagues.
I'm honestly surprised that more European schools have not increased their recruitment efforts in the US (I know they have increased them for Indian and Chinese students).
Now, how much you wanna bet that if a trend starts to grow, that education "experts", lobby-funded by US schools, will start maligning the quality of education in overseas schools?
