Give me a break....
The latest group that seems to want, or maybe it's just somebody thinks they should have special treatment during the admission process is the gay population.
One college, Middlebury, gives prospective applicants an 'attribute' the same flag they give an ethnic minority, athletes, children of alumni and so on.
Passalacqua, says gay students bring a unique quality to the college, such that the college is not "too homogeneous." Also getting, flagged, earmarked or whatever are students who say they belong to gay-straight clubs or alliances.
What in the world?
Why should anyone anywhere be given special treatment?
Perhaps students should be judged by what they had to OVERCOME to get to where they are.
Yeah...that's it. Point values or some other objective criteria should be determined to acess what an individual had to overcome to get to a school's admission counselor.
Before long, it will the white guy or girl who is the minority on any campus.
Good grief.
