My wife and I went on a cruise last month. There was a magician who was incredible. He made things come together - the audience's money and his pockets.

He made things disappear - again the audience's money.

The guy hawked his magic classes on DVD's and the cruisers scoffed them up forgetting they needed to spend hours training, learning as if in, shall we call it - school, in order to master the tricks.

As if impressing their friends at parties or church, the would be magicians now have another motivation - Beijing will host the World Magic Championships in 2009.

The World championships of Magic are held every three years and this will be the firs time for them to be held in a developing country. Yep, China is still developing in many respects.

China drew 62% of support in the selection process for the Olympic Games of Magic.

Now, its back to school or hold on to your sheckles less a whole lot of people make them disappear in Beijing in 2009.
