NCAA College Football is a big draw for schools. It makes money for the schools, provides scholarships for the athletes AND gives the athletes a showcase to show just how stupid they can be.
The University of Miami is a big football school. The cross-town Florida International University is trying to grow up into one but has a long way to go.
FIU showed just how far they had to go this past weekend. Miami showed just how far they have NOT gone in their many years.
The two teams brawled for several minutes before they could finally be separated, and penalties meted out.
If I swore, this would be the time to do it. These two schools should be thrown out of the league for a season or two...and the Miami team should take their cheering fans with them.
What a shame!
Is this the best these two athletic programs can put on display? If so, they should close down the programs and invest in a swim program.
