China has the oldest of everything. Ask any Chinese and they will tell you that anything and everything started in China.

China has an academy that celebrated its 1,030th anniversary on Oct. 3rd.

The Yuelu Academy, founded in 976, is one of China's most famous ancient academies. It became a higher learning institute in 1903 and part of Hunan University in 1926.

The school has just 70 students who are studying for a Masters or PhD in history, philosophy, education and literature.

At the anniversary the school broke ground for an academy museum to be completed in two years and devoted to research and exhibtion. of Chinese academy artifacts.

When someone says "look at that old fossil," the viewer will have to think twice to determine whether or not it is something in a case or the 80 year old prof standing in the corner.
