A study by a Northeastern University researcher found that college kids who use prescription drugs prefer amphetamines. And one such drug, Adderall, is used more than three times its closest rival.

The number one reason for using the drug is to increase concentration in order to be more competitive academically.

A third finding was that not one African American student reported using the drug to get high.

So, how do these kids get this drug if they are for prescription purposes?

Some say that sports is a natural high. Tell that to my kid - on an athletic scholarship - who finds himself so exhausted he will sleep through classes...physics in particular.

It's a shame that schools, and profs can't keep students motivated enough that students can stay focused on classes and activities.

It's a further shame that students have to resort to stimulants to keep themselves competitive.

Perhaps they should ask the football players at their school how to keep competitive without resorting to outside stimulants.
