Gee, really?
Some of the findings:
1. Older students were less negatively affected when told they had to take remedial classes, especially mathematics.
2. Getting credits quick and dirty was more important to younger students than older when it came to graduating.
3. Older students, once mastering the remedial math classes had a higher probability of graduation.
4. Younger students needed better college orientation, more intensive advising and counseling as well as more activities to get them involved in college social life.
5. Older students are more affected by the need to balance work and family with school than fitting in socially.
I wonder how long it took the researchers to reach these conclusions.
I reckon I could have figured this out on my own without spending oodles of research money and time.
It makes me wonder if all the research that is being done is worth being done.
What do you think?
