The US Education Department has released figures on arrests for crimes on college campuses.
Drinking arrests are up 10% from 2003 (31,23) - 2004 (34,394). Is this because more students are drinking or because law enforcement has improved?
Drug arrests are up 4% . 13,235 in 2004 to 12,854 in 2003.![]()
Illegal Weapons Possesion arrests are also up - 1,354 in 2004 and 1,199 in 2003.
Question: Should I feel better now that more kids are getting caught? Or should I worry that there are more kids drinking, shooting up and shooting?
I have a son who is a junior in college. Are things getting better or worse for him?
What do you think?
