I lived in my car when I went to college. I usually finished work around 11pm, went to the library to get books I needed, read till I dropped off (abt 3 minutes) and then woke up wherever I was reading at the time, usually my car.
It took 45 minutes to drive home, change my clothes and get in bed. It was another 45 minutes back to school in the morning for a 7am class. It wasn't worth the 90 minute drive...so, my VW Bug was my home on nights when my friends would not let me crash in their dorm rooms...which was always. (school rule)
Princeton Review asked 115,000 students across the country what they think of their dorms.
These colleges claim to have the worst facilities to make someone like me happy I had a car to crash in.
10. University of Washington - maybe they will have to give away more than free tuition to get students to attend
8. University of Idaho - made out of potato skins?
6. SUNY - Albany - the food is lousy, too!
5. University of Louisiana at Lafayette
3. University of Hawaii at Manoa - so, sleep outside!
2. United States Merchant Marine Academy
1. United States Coast Guard - wait till they get aboard ship![]()
CGA students say "life is very regimented. All live in the same building, wake up at the same time, attend formations, and eat together."
It seems they all hate their dormitories with the same passion, too.
