Tsinghua University is one of China's most famous universities. It is now the first university to find its name on a list of famous Chinese trademarks.
On Tuesday, the State Admnistration of Industry and Commerce (SAIC) listed up 106 famous trademarks.
The aim of this list is for the organizations on it to be used only in the fields they are related to. Tsinghua University can only be used in fields related to education and training....otherwise authorization is needed.![]()
Two Beijing publishing companies were fined this month for using 'Tsinghua' in the titles of books they published last year.
Dare I say that this is a whiff of the Chinese becoming aware of what it meand to have intellectual property borrowed, stolen or pilfered?
Are the Chinese beginning to understand what it means to have something valuable of theirs 'used' and not get asked or get a return on it?
Seems so to me.
What do you think?
