Insidehighered reports on an Asian student with perfect SAT scores, top 1% graduation ranking and completion of nine advanced placement classes being rejected by Princeton and having to settle for Yale.

Poor baby.

Still, the boy is saying that he was rejected because he was Asian - Chinese.

The student is saying that as a result of affirmative action he was discriminated against. If it were NOT for affirmative action, he would have had a better chance of being accepted.

Princeton says that they reject about half of all applicants with perfect SAT scores.

I remember applying for a job at SUNY Buffalo. The qualifcations were - having lived in an Asian country. I lived in Japan for nearly 20 years. Speak an Asian language - I speak Chinese, Japanese, and Russian. Higher ed degree and so on.

I could have written the job description around my qualifications and experience. Still, I did not even get a phone call. I fully believe it was a result of affirmative action that I did NOT even get a try at the job.

Affirmative action doesn't work.
