A call for proposals goes out today for papers. The deadline is February 7, 2007.
Last year's winners can be seen at www.connections.blackboard.com
As I read the press realease, I see that the program is designed to:
1. Pay tribute to those institutes that have cultivated innovations in education and technology, and supports the organic growth of knowledge within the Blackboard community.
2. Reward clients who have successfully developed and deployed initiatives promoting best practices in the adoption of Internet technology to solve institutional challenges.
3. Recognize and reward members of the Blackboard community who show innovative use of the Blackboard Commerce Suite™
What I want to know is, where is the connection between using Blackboard and greenhouses and organic growth and such?
Is it my imagination or is Blackboard using these 'buzz words' for other purposes than to promote eco-friendliness?
It seems to me that when all is said and done, Blackboard is spending $100k to get a whole bunch of ideas to tell them (BB) better and more innovative ways that their (BB) system might be used.
What do you think?
