
The biggest problems are in science, technology and mathematics.
Gee, sounds like we are talking about the US.
But, it also sounds like a bit of 'nationalist' pride as well.
Aren't schools meant to invite and train students who are qualified no matter where they are from and where they go next?
Why is this a problem and who is it a problem for? Britain? The U.S?
I don't think quality Indian or Chinese students see it as a problem.
So, what is the vice-chancellor lamenting? That she has an extremely diverse staff? That her students represent the best of other countries? That the program has a real opportunity to make a difference in the world?
what's wrong with that?
I think the U.K. and America should welcome qualified students from whereever they may come and accept the challenge, even lose to it and play catch up if necessary.
Schools are for students, not for countries.
