One in five of your neighbors, maybe you, too, believe in witches and that people can communicate with the dead. Gee, they saw them do it on television. It must be true, right?
But...a physicist at the University of Central Florida calls this American belief in the paranormal - nonsense.
A physics prof at the University of Maryland calls this funky faith of many Americans - crap. And that goes for astrology, ESP, aliens and other such figments of people's imagination.
One finding...in January of 1600 there were an estimated 537 million humans. If, the UCFL prof reasons, a vampire sucked one person's blood each month thus creating another vampire who did the same...the entire world's population would have been zero by July of 1602.
Maybe, THAT is what is wrong with the world now. We are all possessed!
Not-so-funny...some people will believe what has no scientific support, but can not reason something as simple as cause/effect or design/designer.
What do you think?
