Apparently, not all of those boys are stupid...well, not test stupid.
One boy, passed his college entrance exams for the fourth time. The first three times he ended up dropping out of school for not studying. He was at the Internet Cafe.
His profs say his scores were excellent and the boy, now 23, could have gone to one of the most prestigious universities in China.
However, his obsession with Internet surfing and computer games proved to be his downfall.
One prof says, this boy "is a typical example of those students who have no trouble with exams in China's exam-oriented middle school education but fail to adapt to college life where the emphasis is on self-study and all-round development."
I guess we know that doing well on tests is not all there is to being a successful student/person.
Here is one more example.
What do you think?

"I guess we know that doing well on tests is not all there is to being a successful student/person."
It's not even a prerequisite, if you believe the recent CDT article on the report suggesting 90% of Chinese billionaires are children of party officials. And if Hong Xiuquan, leader of the Taiping Rebellion, can be used as a case study, it's a good idea to fail a few times.
The kid's only 23. It's a little early to be pointing out the reasons for his "downfall".
