Michigan is voting today on whether or not affirmative action programs that give preferential treatment should be banned or not.

The proposed ammendment to Michigan's constitution would:

1. Ban public institutions from using affirmative action programs that give preferential treatment to groups or individuals based on their race, gender, color, ethnicity or national origin for public employment, education or contracting purposes.

2. Prohibit public institutions from discriminating against groups or individuals due to their gender, ethnicity, race, color or national origin.

Should the proposal be adopted?

Well, of course it should be adopted.
