Opendoors has put together a tremendous resource on trends in international students - those coming to the U.S. and students in the U.S. heading elsewhere.
It is estimated that foreign students bring some $13.5 billion in revenue. That's a lot of sheckles for the host campus, host states, host families, shopping malls.
I don't know how much US students take with them when they go overseas, but its not peanuts when you multiply any amount by 200,000 students.
This graph gives an excellent picture of the way things are and the way they are headed.
Of course, I am partial to numbers and graphs. These two pages speak volumes.
