A kid from Hippieville, CA, otherwise known as Berkeley, was elected vice president in a student election, All India Students' Association at Jawaharlal Nehru University.

India, apparently, takes student elections quite seriously with many going on to politics and holding key posts in the government.

His campaign emphasis was accusing Washington of pursuing imperialist policies.

The kid, speaking in Hindi, told reporters and voters alike that US is spreading imperialism and 70% of people in America oppose Bush and his policies.

Well, if the kid does go on to hold a post in the Indian government, the country will surely get what it deserves.

I am sure he has made his leftist native town and family quite proud.
