The U.S. Copyright office issued an exemption to professors of film and media studies who use clips of films, music and what not in their classes.
The librarians who help are in the clear as well.
The question, of course, will be where the lines are drawn.
What if a professor wanted to use an exerpt from a book? Can he get an exemption to copy that as well?![]()
What if its a tv spot can the prof copy that?
Seems to me like there is some grey area here and when there is a place where people can dig in and cause a stink, well, dang it, they will dig in.
What do you think?
