It is the first time in decades that the school has seen their football team natioanlly ranked, currently 14th.
However, the NorthJersey.com says that the success has come at a cost.
The head coach makes $2,900 Atlantic City-to-Manhattan helicopter rides, spends $10k to hang out with elite college head coaches and $90K was spent on rings and mementos honoring the team's runnerup appearance last year at the Insight Bowl.
Despite spending much more, millions more, than the football program brings in, leaders at the school say it is necessary for the school's image and reputation.
Yea..the school has a reputation for spending too much on football jocks and charging $20k+ per average student to pay for this excess.
Someone should ask the student body if they (the student body) wants to pay for this reputation and image or if they would rather have better study/research facilites, better profs, or, gad, cheaper tuition costs.
The football team received $1.25 million last year for losing the Insight Bowl in AZ. The football program still lost money.
The team spends $175,000 to put the players up in hotels for six HOME games. This is MORE money than what is spent the entire year for the now eliminated tennis program.
