Michigan voters decided affirmative action should be canned. - 58% to the rest of the state.
University of Michigan president said - nah, we are going to sue the state. Who cares if we are a public institution and the public doesn't agree with us.
Now, it seems the prez is reconsidering.
The president said - "We know we have a great deal of work to do at the
University of Michigan to live up to our ideals of a broadly diverse learning community."
Uh...if affirmative action were working, then why is there such a great deal of work to do, I wonder?
Now, the college has developed a task force to see out how diversity can be achieved in light of affirmative action being tossed out as of December 22nd.
Perhaps, affirmative inaction?
shouldn't things be left alone? Isn't that what the voters asked for?
What do you think?
