Here is the Commission's ten step program...doesn't include acknowledging a higher power
Step 1 - Assume that we will do the job right the first time - in short get our kids ready for college BEFORE college so that the colleges don't have to do it.
Step 2 - Make much more efficient use of available resources
Step 3 - Recruit the top third of high school grads going to college to become the next generation of school teachers -
Step 4 - Develop standards, assessments and curriculum that reflect today's needs and tomorrow's requirements
Step 5 - Create high performance schools and districts everywhere
Step 6 - Provide high quality, universal early childhood education
Step 7 - Give strong support to the students who need it the most
Step 8 - Enable every member of the adult workforce to get the new literacy skills
Step 9 - Create personal competitiveness accounts
Step 10 - Create regional competitiveness authorities to make America competitive
Rather, some federal or state agency will want to set up feasibility studies and investigate the proposed results and other nonsense.
Step 11 - get to work on these now.
Step 12 - acknowledge a higher power.
