Chinese mainland students get it coming and going. Not only do they face international student costs when coming to the US without a scholarship, they will have to pay more if they opt to go to a Hong Kong University as well.
Three Hong Kong universities will raise tuition fees up to HK$60,000 ($7,715).
The price for four years at the University of Hong Kong will be HK$330,000 ($40K+).
The number of scholarships that will be available is also going up to 60 from 48.![]()
The reason for the increase is to recover mainland student recruitment costs.
The next raise in tuition costs will not happen before 2010, promised a Hong Kong official.
American schools could use a promise like that - no more tuition raises for at least 5 years.
That would be nice, eh?
What do you think?
