The Senate and House have both passed a measure that would extend tax credits of up to $4,000 for individuals who make less than $65,000 and couples who make less than $130,000.

A second provision was extended to give corporate tax credit for investments in university research and development.

That's good new for me, or bad...I need to make $130,000 because I live in Silicon Valley. But, I don't. That's the bad news. The good news...I have a kid in college and I am spending enough to get my $4,000 break.

Thanks, Congress...for doing something for us little people....but...what about the half of the nation that doesn't make even $50k? Shouldn't they get an even greater tax break?

Or about a deal like they have in Washington State? Let them go to college for free.
