The fans all have their underwear in a knot. The analysts are talking holes in the ground. The college ball players all want to say their piece. And college administrators don't really care - they will get $14-17 million just because their team is going...to the BCS or one of the four other bowl games that will generate the same amount of money.
Florida State was chosen over a team that it had lost to in 2000.
Nebraska lost is last regular season game in 200
Oklahoma lost its conference game and went in 2003.
Why can't Michigan go even it lost to OSU? They lost barely, only once to the best team in the nation.
Why does Florida deserve a 'shot?' Because they beat #5 - LSU, #9 - Alabama, #16 - Tennessee?
I have a solution. Declare Ohio State # 1 and let Michigan and Florida play for # 2 in the nation. OSU can then pick a bowl and go play for the fun of it...and bring home a lot of money.
Or...how about letting Michigan and Florida field an all-star team and let OSU beat them. The all-star team has a month to get ready...plenty of time.
For sports fans, this is a fun time.
For the teams involved, it is a lot fun.
For administrators...they are licking their lips and waiting for the kaching!
College football is big business first, and then sports.
What do you think?
