The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology reported on the disparity in tuition costs for national colleges and private colleges in Japan.
In 2004, the cost of tuition at a national college in Japan was 521,000 = $4,400.
The cost for private college tuition was 818,000 = $6,800.
Students, however, have to pass some serious tests to get into the national
universities.
Still, the costs are much cheaper than in the U.S.
How do they compare to your country?
